What was 24 season 7 about

Super D. Aug 05, A strong bounce-back with powerful twists and some great surprise returns. Steve D. Jun 05, Jack Bauer's is in for another bad day in another thrilling season of another semi rebooted season. Much like after the less than stellar third season, 24 retooled and revamped the cast for season 4. And now, after a lacklustre season 6, 24 is once again retooling with a new cast, new city and new threats. The biggest thing that supported this season was the Writers Guild Strike, as the show went on hiatus for a year.

This extra time to craft and mould is evident after the first 8 episodes, when the show leaps forward with new creative energy and original plot points.

Especially when it brings in more elements of TV movie filmed to bridge the gap and wet audiences appetite during the hiatus. The first few episodes fall into the normal routine of 24, in that, we are promised new characters, new struggles for Jack and then quickly resorts to back to normal business for Jack with his old friends.

Teaming Jack up with an old friend with questionable loyalties is exciting for fans, but its the pair up with straight laced FBI agent Renee Walker that gives the season its mileage as the two clash about their methods until a slightly eased alliance. The new location and the new cast bring some much needed freshness to the show, with the new location especially allowing for some of the more creative stand outs. It feels like a new show, but familiar at the same time.

This season probably wont win over any new fans, but fans of the show will rank this highly in the legacy of Martin G.

Mar 31, Feb 27, In contrast to most critical and fan reviews of this show, I thoroughly enjoyed the sixth season of "24", yet did not get into "Redemption" at all. Thus, as I began the Seventh Season of perhaps the greatest TV show on TV today LOST is about the only thing that probably beats it , I was a bit concerned about the quality of a season that would be building on the events that transpired in "Redemption".

Of course, in typical "24" style, I should have never doubter the writers and actors I was blown away! The seventh season opens with Jack Bauer in front of a Congressional Committee and on trial for torture.

This provides the perfect transition into what would become a season of change for the show. Once Bauer finishes his business in front of the Senators who seem to be out to get him, he is called away to help an F. At this point in the show's timeline, CTU has been shut down for its reckless procedures, so the entire show has a bit of a different feel to it. Of course, Jack Bauer's task eventually leads him into the thick of a terrorist plot against the United States, and thus once again he is "on point" most of the time, with action scenes and surprising cliffhangers that rival any previous season.

The true success of this season, though, was its ability to move the show into a new locale while still giving subtle nods to old friends. Plus, old friends such as Bill Buchanon, Chloe O'Brien, and Kim Bauer in perhaps the most emotional story-arc of the season make return appearances, as does Tony Almeida although his status as friend or enemy is tough to decipher. Thus, even if unlike me you found Season Six to be a major disappointment, have no fear about purchasing the next installment of the show, as even I will admit that it was probably the best season in a few years.

Zach K. Jun 29, With one of the best opening scenes for a season, I was very disappointed with what followed. There are 4 storylines in the season, and only one is good, and it's very short, about 3 episodes.

And only 7 episodes that are good. I may be forgetting some, but as far as new characters at the start of the season, Renee Walker is one of my favorites! I really like her. When a season starts and they try and make you care about brand new characters, most of the time I don't. But I grew to like Agent Walker more and more, as well as care about her. This season is a season that I have found many missed opportunities. Andruw F. Nov 20, The season was pretty great and an improvement from season 6, but the season finale ruined it for me.
