There had been much speculation around what C-USA would do to counter the loss of nine programs. We have been deliberate in our efforts for the past few weeks to get us to this point and will continue to evaluate and consider our additional options for membership.
Sam Houston has been a powerhouse at the FCS level, winning a National Championship and have finished in the top in five of the last seven seasons. New Mexico State has struggled since leaving the Sun Belt in , amassing a record as an FBS Independent and has only one winning season in the last decade.
