Every day i check this website for more info to help me get my drake. I killed Dirkee at the engine of the makers at am server time and thought "oh well i hav some time now at least 6h till the next spawn" then went to dalaran to clean bags and put things in my bank sell tailoring stuff So far iv seen 2 screen shots of GMs saying that tlpd shares respawn timer with at least 2 more mobs but they didnt say what mobs.

Decided to wait for this, with the macro at the location posted earlier ; to the SE of Valkyrion and S of Temple of Storms, the west end of the frozen river. Me and about 10 other people were camping the spot, decided to group up with a paladin who'd been there for roughly 10 hours ; we would then roll on the resulting drake.
Well, within 2 hours of me being there the drake spawned, and we managed to tag it. I rolled a 85 and the paladin who'd sat there for 8 hours rolled a Comment by so there i was, trying to blow myself up in the mine field near K3 when my macro went nuts. Also note in searching for the Drake and Vyragosa as they both share spawn timers, I have not see either one all week until today Sunday.
This leaves me to believe that this is either some random GM spawned event, it could be each server has different spawns and paths for it which is a possibility , or the server is setup to spawn these rare spawns in locations away from where people are gathering which is another possibility from my analysis.
While looking through most of the kills, even pics of the kills, and coordinates, what I found on my server today was the first I ever seen or heard of the time-lost drake being killed in Brunnhildar Village, all the sites including this one indicates that it dont even path into that village. Also I found it quite strange the Shaman who killed it, stated he killed it on an alt in Snowdrift Plains, which btw is one of the paths taken according to thott and wowdb, but during the convo which was in general chat, I mentioning how these sites kept point at Vyragosa and TLPD spawning around Temple of Storms, Shaman never really responded after that point, those 2 things kind of wanted me to put my Tin Foil hat on, still does right now just for the fact a Level 80 happen to be in a place TLPD dont normally spawn or path.
I also think the Shaman was quite surprised when I asked in general who killed it literally a minute after the kill while I was still at temple of the storms. It would be here. I was watching Oprah around when my macro went crazy, i did'nt see any dragon towards K3, i turned around and i saw this brownish beauty flying over The Abondended camp or something, you know where and towards Engine of the makers.
My drake flew over this dude that was afk and that's when my heart started beating. I took him down shortly after when he was heading up towards the Terrace, i killed him infront of the cave there down on the field. Screenie It's hard to tell, but it was north of the Engine, as you can see. And as for spawntimers, I camped for 15 days, and one week he did not spawn at all, i waited till 3 at night for the server cache restart and nothing happened. Killed Dirkee only once, I can say that they do not share a spawntimer, very unlikely.

Comment by So i've been camping this drake for months, but the past 3 days, I have stepped it up and been close to killing him twice, and stuck to one location or two. I have seen it alive once Oops, hole in the ground, and no slow fall! Another time, was just a few hundred yards away from it spawning again I was telling a friend where I saw its body, and BAM, spawns ontop of him.
Its not as rare as one would think. Either that, or I have just been very lucky Or unlucky. While sitting on Dirkee for minutes waiting for a buddy to come get credit for him, someone killed Vyragosa a few hundred yards away while we watched.

I got around to Valkyrion Sp. I kept going, and sure enough, there he was! Anyway was spamming my macro when i almost! I got target of Vyragosa at Egine of the makers. So here is a screenshot of Storm peaks, the black square is where i spotted it. And i guess it newly spawned there also as i had been patroling around there area atleast 1 min before i came back to that place. The red dots are the path she is flying and the yellow dots are where she is somewhere closer to the ground if that is useful to know.
From egine of the makers towards the frozen water fall continuing towards K3, i dont think i need to explain more about that. Where im spotted on the map is where i eventually killed it after two laps of that path on the screenshot.
And yes its not TLPD but they use the same path when they are flying and this is just one of the many paths they fly. I DO think he shares respawn timer with Vyragosa. Comment by I've been looking for the drake for about 2 weeks now. I've killed Vyragosa 6 times, seen her killed a few more, killed DIrkee once, and have never seen TLPD or had the server query show anything.
To help us find this rare spawn we need to collect what we know about spawn points, paths, and spawn timers. There is solid info on Vyragosa's spawn locations, paths, and that she has a spawn timer between 6 and 24 hours. I think we can also say that Dirkee shares nothing in common with either dragon. So let's say that they probably share spawn locations and paths.
If this is true, then there is no need to look for the TLPD for 6 hours after a Vyra kill if you assume Vyra can't spawn within 6 hours either. Vyragosa and TLPD maybe share spawn locations and paths but their spawn timers are not linked at all. Where Vyragosa has a spawn timer of hours, TLPD has a spawn timer in the order of days that runs separately. If this is the case, frequent server resets that clear the timer could greatly affect the chances of a spawn.
How about if the server query script worked when the opposing faction got the kill? Any thoughts on whether the frequency of TLPD spawns has anything to do with server population? I'm on a very low pop server, and as I said there has been no sightings in 2 weeks.
Are spawn timers affected by server resets? If the timer is counting down and one of them is going to spawn in an hour, but the server restarts, and the timers saved and restarted, or are they reset to a new random time hours? There are definitely some assumptions in there, so we really don't know anything for certain, but I hope this helps save some time. If anyone sees any mistakes or has anymore info that helps, I'll try to update this.

I made this script into a macro and for a while it was stuck on retrieving item info I have seen also at some points where TLPD and Vyra would spawn within 2 hours of each other, 2nd party information though. I am not certain on hr timer, it seems like its hours, I also have a strong belief something within the zone can trigger its spawn also, of all the reports of TLPD and Vyragosa kills have been by people doing dailies, mining, herbing, farming mobs in locations near Valkyrion and Bunnhildar village, this seems like when these 2 spawn the most, the people who camp and people who aint killing or doing anything seems like the time they refuse to spawn.
I am lead to believe theirs a mob kill count that needs to be reached to spawn them, theirs alot of evidence that could support this theory to. I dont know if these rare spawns differ from earlier ones in Classic or TBC, but I can easily tell you I dont think any rare spawns prior to this expansion has ever shared spawn timers, they use to have a whole group of rare spawns out in Badlands, all of them at times were all up at once, as well as rare spawns in the TBC more specific out in Blades Edge mountain.
Comment by Ok, yesterday since I've been camping boar's Breath 24h straight until now. The only thing I saw was Vyragosa dead north from Valkyrion when I did my spawn route. And now I think about it and I feel kinda stupid for camping a dragon, that is just made of polygons and pixels. What have I become? I will report back, and try to be more active By moving around Storm Peaks, not by slacking on Boar's Breath Have fun camping and good luck!

Comment by I'm hunting for this drake since early January, and last night, I used an autoclicker on the macro and increased sound, so if the macro will proc, I will wake up. Suddenly it did proc, and I almost had an heart attack. I was at the frozen lake, and was looking for him like mad, went to the frozen waterfall large one and it wasn't there, went to snowdrift and who do I find? The time-lost proto-drake, lying dead, under nobody but my friend's who has a black, azure, blue proto-drake, and red proto-drake sucidical sword Slayer of the Lifeless.
Then he started whispering me how lucky he is and how unlucky I am. I should have taken it seriously when he whispered me before "I'm coming to ninja it from you" though I was sleep so I've read it in delay.
Never trust hardcores, or dwarves. Although I can't stop. Good luck guys-I hope that you will find it through hunting, and not through lucky hol runs. Comment by Atranox Not sure if this will help anyone with determining the spawn time, but on Mannoroth, the TLPD has actually spawned now 3 times in the past 24 hours, all of which I've missed. After a while, I saw someone spamming general chat about killing, so I checked the server cache macro, and sure enough it was killed.
Yesterday, it was again killed around 3 PM right as I logged on. Both corpses that I saw were around the Engine of the Makers. Its pretty frustrating considering I've been camping it fairly regularly now for about a month, and haven't even seen it prior to yesterday. Bad timing I suppose. What else do I find? Undead DK named Hellwidcha who Ive never seen on the server before has it with a guildie of his around also, they not even talking about how or why the script is showing this mount as being looted and used if TLPD has not spawned this week. I beginning to smell a huge BLUE rat tangled up with this mess of these 2 spawns.

Comment by I camped this guy religiously for two weeks after I hit Tonight I felt lucky, so about five hours ago, I logged onto my main and dragged her to the spawn point over the frozen lake and parked her there.
I randomly surfed the web, switching windows to spam my macro a few times, doing a fly over once every thirty minutes. Sadly, it was not Time-Lost, but Vyragosa: the first time I've spotted her spawn on my server, Kael'thas. She was flying from Valkyrion, over the frozen lake: I had decided shortly before my macro hit home to start my rounds, so I had begun flying away. Thus, I lost her as I crossed over the the little waterfall. I turned around, spammed it a few more times, picked her up again as she was JUST leaving the village she had NOT showed on my screen yet, but my macro hit home; she showed up as I was flying back towards the village.
She was roughly a few feet above the tallest building there as in, she was nearly touching said building - she was not high up at all.
To aggro her, I simply flew into her, got her locked on me, and landed onto the lake. She stays thirty-five yards from you, give or take: my judgments can hit her I'm a holy pally but my holy shock could not.
I tried jumping to hit her with holy shock, and thus could, so I'm assuming it's around thirty-five yards exactly. With no resistance, her frost breath hit me for 1. It took me about five minutes to kill her.
I know this is under Time-Lost's thread, but given all the speculation that they share a timer, I am hoping this proves useful. It was a couple hours ago.. Korgath US Server Tuesday, Feb 17th.. Dirkee kills were at Engine of Makers. I saw the corpse of Time lost last week, at the same exact time pm PST..
And the corpse was in the area north of Valkyrion, west of Grom'arsh crash site Best way to find it is to circle around the temple of storms.. Never give up! You will find it eventually!
I went nuts when my macro hit.. I'm a rogue so i made sure i had auto dismount enabled Well worth the time spent searching..
It is awesome showing it off! Comment by As promised, seen twice in a period of less than two weeks, in the same location Give or take 30 yards. Fire elemental totems, Glyphed evocation etc. Like other drakes, he loves to stand ontop of you, so you have trouble attacking him. He also teleports behind you too. While an 'easy' kill its very easy to get flustered and forget how to do anything.
I have camped this drake for a very long time, and I can tell you, stay in the western half of stormpeaks. Eastern half is not worth your time. Comment by I finally managed to get my hands on this baby. I've been following this thread and did some math myself, heres what I think. I killed Varygosa yesterday around 10pm. This morning I killed the proto drake at 8am. For me this sounds like some linked 10h respawn timer. But, I think a steady respawn timer would be too easy to farm so heres what I guess: I found a dead proto drake at 7pm one evening, exactly 27h later I killed Varygosa.
Giving the 9 h average respawn and the 10h confirmed respawn I would suggest, that Varygosa and de Proto Drake share a hour respawn timer. I will actually try to check my hypothesis this evening, seeing if I can find Varygosa or the protodrake between 8 and 10h after I killed him this morning.

Comment by Apparently you ran into the same little incident I did, Vyragosa being killed at the blue proto drakes and then finding someone with the TLPD as if Vyragosa dropped it. Its very fishy indeed. I am finding more and more TLPD owners are people you never seen before, do not know, and such including seeing alot of people not even level 80 and on alts searching for this thing which is very odd.
The thought that they are a placeholder for them is absurd. Such a high profile area would have attracted much attention. It would have been spammed in chat if anyone had found the body or anything. I'm only asking because I managed to tag Vyragosa a few minutes ago but unfortunately I'm a warrior he just stayed at range and kept using frost breath on me. Does the Time-Lost come down once you tag it? Or are there any tricks to get it to go to you if you're melee? Comment by Food for thought: Scanned the server caches with the macro of two large EU servers for almost two weeks, and the TLPD didn't show up on either.
Today, the macro reported the first mount drop on one server, and a short time later on the other. It might well be that the TLPD spawns on selected servers, and then for longer period not.

I have read everyones comments, and filtered out what I thought was crap. First, there can only be two rare elites up at any given time in Northrend. What you got to do is set your hearth in storm peaks, get locations of the known spawns of all rare elites in northrend, and make sure you kill them, or that someone does.
After you kill one or you know for sure one has been killed hearth back and camp for the time lost. Even if you find Vyra dead, a time lost could show up on the next spawn. The spawn time for rare elites seems to be 30 min, hence how long the body stays there for. Could I have just gotten lucky?
I don't think so because I just helped a friend get it also. Now I will share my info since I'm done looking for this thing. I asked a gm about this dragon and he told me "he does have an extreme low respawn time" meaning that he is not up for much time. He spawns, does his rute or whatever and just despawn if no one kills him.
Dirkdee was up at the same time i killed him, so they do not share nothing. I did some of the paths for like 1 hour and at my macro tagged him. I hope this help you guys trying to get this mount. I have camped in total about hours and have yet to see a corpse I am going to guess that it is a GM spawn and casual players tend to get it a lot more than people camping it.

Unfortunately, someone else killed it, but at I did see it's dead corpse.
The macro actually went off when I was in Bor's by the harpies, which surprised me, I flew around looking for it, never guessing it was by the Terrace. The macro for the dropped reins, above, works, cuz as soon as it was looted, the item description came up, instead of the "retrieving item info" box. What is your inventory addon? Comment by I'm pretty sure you're wrong about the 2 rares at a time thing. From what I've read from people working on the Frostbitten achievement, which is to kill every rare spawn, 5 rares spawn when the server resets, and more spawn at set intervals after that.

You will be eligible for the mount if the drake's health bar is red when you attack it and you stay in range of the drake until it dies. The health bar will turn grey when you can no longer obtain eligibility for the mount. If you engage the drake after eligibility has closed, or if you are not in range of the Proto-Drake when it dies, you are not eligible to receive the mount.
If the corpse is not showing loot sparkles for you, your character was not eligible for any loot and you must try to kill the drake again to obtain the mount. The Postmaster does not recover this mount for players, so everyone who is eligible must loot the Reins or they will not get the mount.
